Dr. Constanze Wehner moves up to the Foundation's Executive Board, where she completes the team alongside Hans Schöpflin and Tim Göbel. The expansion of the board is a consequence of the foundation's further growth and the increase in regional and supra-regional foundation activities.
The appointment of Constanze Wehner means that we are now filling a position internally that our Executive Board decided to create some time ago. "With Constanze Wehner, we have been able to recruit a long-standing employee and leading staff member for this task. We are convinced that she will ideally complement the Executive Board team with her experience in supporting our local projects," says our founder and Chairman of the Executive Board Hans Schöpflin.
Constanze Wehner has been working at the Schöpflin Foundation since 2017. Initially, she managed the program area "School & Development" within the foundation, and in 2020 she took over the project management for the foundation of the Schöpflin School. Since 2021, she has been responsible for the participation project FABRIC and the planning process for the new "Schöpflin Quarter" in Lörrach Brombach. Before joining the Schöpflin Foundation, she was a research assistant at the Claussen-Simon Foundation in Hamburg and completed her PhD at the Faculty of Education at the University of Hamburg. She looks forward to her new task with eager anticipation: "I would like to thank everybody at the Schöpflin Foundation for the trust they have placed in me. I am looking forward to a fruitful exchange with the people of Lörrach, to jointly advancing our local projects, and to being able to shape the Foundation together with the dedicated team in the years to come."
Our Executive Director Tim Göbel is also looking forward to working with Constanze in her new role: "With the founding of the Schöpflin School and the supervision of our neighborhood development project, Constanze has shown that she can successfully complete ambitious tasks. She is also a valued colleague who always keeps the interests of the entire foundation in mind." In the future, Constanze Wehner will be responsible for the Schöpflin Werkraum and the Schöpflin School and, together with her two colleagues on the board, for the Schöpflin Quarter. She will take up her new position on January 1, 2023.
