In Lörrach, we have our own cultural and event venue (the Werkraum Schöpflin), a primary school (the Schöpflin School), a center for addiction prevention as a 100% subsidiary (the Villa Schöpflin), we run our own sociocultulral encounter projects (FABRIC), and we financially support Nido - The Montessori Kinderhaus Lörrach.

The focus of our local activities is to help, guide and support children, youths and young adults as they discover and explore awareness-raising and empowerment.  We are convinced that a great deal can be achieved with this age group if they are given the right "entry points". During childhood and adolescence in particular, people are receptive, creative and open-minded.  At the same time, they critically question their environment and do not simply take everything for granted.  During these years, young people make key decisions about their lives, they develop their talents and consolidate their values.  Here, the experience of self-effectiveness, the opportunity to discover one's own talents and strengths, and a sympathetic ear at the right moment can have a great impact.

 

In addition, we have founded Publix in Berlin — a place to promote journalistic innovation and strengthen democratic discourse. A place for networking and for the future of journalism. In September 2024, the new House for Journalism and Public Debate was opened.
