The Schöpflin Schule (Schöpflin School) has opened its doors at the beginning of the 2021/22 school year in Lörrach-Brombach, where it complements the already existing operational facilities of the Schöpflin Foundation. It is a place where children and adults learn how to jointly take responsibility and actively shape the way we live together. Our motto: “Learn together – experience community!”
We want the Schöpflin School to be a place where children can, without fear, experiment and test themselves – all without the pressure to perform and without worrying about school grades. It will be a place where they will be given the opportunity and the space to discover and hone their own skills. We want to guide children as they make their way along their own learning and development pathways; we will then support them as they become authors of their own education story. They will assume responsibility for their own learning program; and they will be given space to develop and evolve their personal potential – all carefully supported by qualified teachers and educators.
We take the needs of children very seriously and offer a learning environment where they can feel that their individual talents are acknowledged and appreciated – and where they feel truly involved. We will listen to the children, take them seriously and enable them to participate fully so that we can create and develop the Schöpflin School together. Empathy, healthy relationships and a real sense of trust all come together to form the basis for a good and successful learning experience.
The Brombach district of Lörrach and the diverse range of extra-curricular activities on offer in the region provide many opportunities for children to learn through real, true-to-life issues and situations. This gives children the chance to see how best to deal with complex challenges. Our inclusive, single-grade elementary school – which covers all aspects of education and includes compulsory all-day activities – will also focus on ensuring the children experience art, culture and creativity; Education for Sustainable Development (ESD); and participation, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
