At the well-attended New Year’s reception of the Lörrach-Brombach district council, local mayor Silke Herzog honored Founder and Advisory Board Chairman Hans Schöpflin for his long-standing engagement. She particularly highlighted the local institutions on the Schöpflin Campus: over the past 25 years, the former family home of the Schöpflin siblings in Brombach has become home to Villa Schöpflin, a prevention center for children and adolescents, the cultural and event venue Werkraum Schöpflin, the socio-cultural participation space FABRIC, and a private, state-recognized elementary school, the Schöpflin Schule.
New additions from the end of 2027 will include a public park and a »House for Everyone«. Construction for the project has recently begun. The new facilities will bring together numerous foundation offerings in art, culture, and creativity. The new building will also provide space for the local general practitioner center and an additional medical practice, ensuring long-term healthcare provision in the area. »For me, he is a very special person«, Herzog said about Hans Schöpflin in her laudation. In addition to his positive local impact, she also mentioned the foundation’s nationwide commitment to democracy and independent journalism. »This is about thinking sustainably, not just in the short term«, she emphasized in her speech.
