Preparing children and young people for a self-reliant life in an ever-changing world is one of the key challenges for schools in the modern age. The Deutsche Lehrerforum 2018 aims to bring together teachers from throughout Germany to discuss how best to prepare pupils for the challenges they will face in life.
This event – sponsored among others by the Schöpflin Foundation – will take place from 13th to 15th September 2018 near Mainz under the heading: »Lehren und Lernen für das 21. Jahrhundert« (»Teaching and Learning for the 21st Century«). Applications to take part can be made by motivated and experienced teachers, students, trainee teachers and newly qualified teachers. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the event organisers.
The deadline for applications is 23rd March 2018.
The Deutsche Lehrerforum is a joint initiative of the Heraeus Bildungsstiftung, the Schöpflin Foundation, the Stiftung Bildung und Gesellschaft, the Stiftung Mercator, the Stifterverband, Teach First Deutschland and the Wübben Stiftung. The aim of the Forum is to enhance professionalism among teachers; to strengthen their networking activities throughout Germany; and to keep politicians and the general public up to date with issues of concern to the teaching profession.
