Root Factory celebrates its successful pilot programme

On 19th April 2018 ‘Root Factory’ – an entrepreneur incubator programme supported by the Schöpflin Foundation – celebrated the successful conclusion of its first cycle and pilot programme.  Root Factory is a support programme developed by Grünhof e. V., Freiburg, an association for social innovation.  The programme helps people with a migration background to set up their own businesses.  The programme started in August 2017 with nine teams from four different countries who all brought their own business ideas to the programme.  Two teams have since founded their businesses; three others are on the verge of doing so.

At the celebratory event – which was attended by Hans Schöpflin and our Managing Director, Tim Göbel – the entrepreneurs were given the opportunity to present their business ideas.  And those present were even able to see for themselves the quality of some of the products, as two of the teams – one planning to open their own snack business, and one about to launch a catering service – laid on a tasty Syrian buffet.
