What does FACK e.V. do?

Because the world is so complex and the formative events so diverse, we need to intentionally align macro, meso, and micro contexts to create experiences that empower people to face the world’s challenges. The next generations need a new space for growth. FACK! is creating that space. With the FACKtory, the organization has established a vibrant place in the heart of Altenburg — an open space where young people can shape, fail, grow, and take their future into their own hands. The FACKtory is a workshop, a living room, and a stage all at once — making it possible to experience what it means to actively shape the future.

Why are we awarding a grant to FACK e.V.?

The systemic strengthening of spaces for encounter and ideas fosters participation of young people in current regional developments and thus enhances democratic understanding. Through its diverse range of programs, FACK e.V. promotes the ability to build consensus — a key requirement for democratic discourse. In doing so, the organization creates new perspectives for young people, especially in rural areas.

What is our mutual goal?

Together, we want to strengthen the FACKtory as a sustainable hub for youth engagement in the Altenburger Land region. By establishing a permanent professional structure, we ensure smooth operations, relieve the burden on volunteers, and develop a structured hosting system that provides young people with guidance, participation, and empowerment. This creates a reliable framework where new ideas can grow — without overwhelming volunteers with day-to-day operations. Our goal: every month, at least one new person joins the community of changemakers — actively shaping the future.
