What does Rebalance Now do?

Rebalance Now is a new organization that is currently being set up to prevent the concentration of economic power and to promote a change towards a fair and democratically shaped economy. For this purpose, Rebalance Now is developing an agenda against monopoly power and uses antitrust law to limit the power of individual companies.  

Why have we awarded a grant to Rebalance Now?

The concentration of economic power harms not only democracy, society and the environment, but also the economy. Dominant companies secure one-sided advantages, eliminate healthy competition and pass on social and environmental costs. Their power restricts our ability to shape democracy. In order to curb this concentration of power, we need civil society voices in antitrust policy. To this end, we are strengthening the anti-monopoly movement together. 

What is our mutual goal?

With the funding partnership, we are creating the groundwork for a new organization that campaigns against monopolization and for a diverse economy. In Germany and Europe, there are first signs of a movement against monopoly power. Rebalance Now aims to expand the existing network and strengthen the voice and presence of civil society in this important field.
